According to a study published in the journal Clinical Nutrition, whey commonly used as a protein supplementation may improve blood lipid profiles and reduce liver fat by as much as 20 percent.
For the study, “Eleven obese women received a 60 grams a day of whey protein supplement for 4-weeks” to supplement their regular diet. The study found that whey protein improved key markers of blood lipid profiles – an important risk marker for heart disease.
