Health officials from India arrived at Mohanlalganj a day after the death of four, otherwise healthy children, during an immunization drive.
The children died soon after they were administered measles vaccine followed by drops of Vitamin A solution, prompting parents to blame the vaccine for the death of their children.
Investigators questions family and health workers involved in the vaccinations, as well as facilities where the vaccines were stored. An autopsy has yet to reveal a clear cause of death.
In a country where vaccines are often not trusted, the incident has the potential for a broad impact. The parents of the children reportedly tried to take health officials hostage.
