Dr. Andrew Wakefield, the English medical researcher whose research linked autism to the vaccine for measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) will not back away from his research, according to an inteview on Monday for the Today show.

Dr, Wakefield, who had his license to practice medicine in the UK revoked, (in what many say is a witch hunt by the medical establishment protecting vaccines), will continue his research, according to the interview, and he remains convinced that his research is sound.

“This is a little bump on the road, and that’s how it should be perceived,” Wakefield told Matt Lauer live on TODAY Monday. “It’s a bump on a very bumpy road, but it’s a bump. What it does not detract from is the fact that there are millions of children out there suffering, and the fact that the vaccines cause autism.”
