Posted by: Natural In: Children's Health

Several studies have found an increased health risks from the use of cell. A 2006 13-nation study found an increased risk of brain tumors. A larger follow up study confirmed the increased risk of tumors. Another 2006 study found a link between cell phone use and lower sperm count in men.

This new study finds that the use of cell phones for more than 22 hours a month increases a person’s risk of developing a parotid gland tumor by about 50 percent. The parotid gland is located near the ear. The study is published in the American Journal of Epidemiology.

Study authors conclude, “our results suggest an association between cellular phone use” and parotid gland tumors. For this study, the researchers looked at cases of 402 benign and 58 malignant parotid gland tumors diagnosed in people age 18 or older in Israel from 2001-2003.

According to researchers, the study results indicated the tumor risk was even greater for those who always put the phone to the same ear.
