Q&A Deborahe Prock

Herbalism and Herbal Medicine

7 months ago, I had a procedure that deadened my large fibroid tumors; however, now the dead fibroids are not going away. What can I do to get my body to absorb the dead matter?

Dear L,

As you know fibroids occur in the uterus which is sealed off from the vagina by our cervix, to remove this dead tissue our bodies would try to slough it off as you would during your period. With the amount of tissue involved in fibroids this may be very painful and possibly not even possible.

It would be my suggestion to consider visiting an OB-GYN to have a DNC (dilation and curettage) to remove the dead tissue. Our bodies are capable of absorbing dead tissues, but after working many years in pathology and seeing first hand the appearance and amount of tissue involved in fibroids, it would be difficult to imagine that this would be a reasonable expectation on ones body.

While we try our best to approach everything natural in my world I have come to realize that we are actually very blessed to be able to have physicians such as the Ob-Gyn’s to help with some of the diseases in our world today. Many of these disease states result from man-made toxins that occur and it stands to reason we may need some man-made intervention.

I believe that considering this procedure will make you feel much better fairly quickly. It is a non-invasive (not actually surgery) and is generally done in the office.

My ? is about Cigarette smoking. Anything you may suggest about quitting. Thank You, Rick.

Good Morning, I received an email this morning from the website and asking for help is half the battle shows you are ready to do something. My suggestion would be to go to a local health food store and pick up a homeopathic “Plantain” (30C – strength), dissolve 3 pellets under your tongue 3 times daily until cravings for tobacco are gone.

Valued for its healing qualities when used internally and externally. Internally, it is a soothing remedy for sore throat, laryngitis, coughs and bronchitis. Commission E, the herbal panel of experts from Germany, concurs, noting that it is a safe, effective antibacterial, astringent.

Contains an active constituent called aucubin, which makes it valuable in treating urinary tract infections. Its astringent qualities helps clear up diarrhea.

Also known to help smokers quit smoking by alleviating their nicotine cravings.

Plantain is a mild expectorant.

Good Luck

I have sarcadosis in lungs. What is alternative treatment other than prednasone.

Good morning D,

First of all a lot of folks do not understand that sarcoidosis is an autoimmune disease, below is some information to help you understand what this means. Herbal tonics that are very good for the lungs in general are used to approach this disease and are available at most health food stores, they include Lobelia Inflata (which is latin for inflate lungs), Nettle has natural antihistamine properties and help to alleviate the granules that form with the disease, Mullein is specific to help with any chest congestion. I believe the liquid tinctures are the best choice for the lungs as they assimilate to the body very easily.

Colloidal silver is a natural antibiotic and will boost the immune system, this too should be available at any health food store.

The bacteria that are formed in sarcoidosis produce vitamin D; Vitamin toxicity is common and can be checked with a blood test. Avoiding too much sun exposure, taking vitamins with vitamin D in them or drinking fortified milk with additional vitamin D is also a good preventative measure.

Autoimmune Disease Common Cause Hypothesis

An Autoimmune Disease Research Foundation (ADRF) White Paper, December 2005

ADRF promotes the argument that autoimmune disease should be regarded as one disease that is manifested as many distinct syndromes

The Common Cause Hypothesis assumes that many, if not all of these “syndromes”, have a single cause — a defective aspect of the immune system. Therefore, in order to cure many of these “syndromes” it is essential that the defective aspect be corrected. Any medical intervention that does not address the underlying immune system defect will not lead to a cure or to long-term quality of life improvement. The current emphasis on treating symptoms is unlikely to lead to a lasting cure.

Here is a simplified description of the process:

Immune cells, during their early stage of development in the thymus gland, blood marrow and elsewhere in the body, go through an education process that teaches them which tissues are “self” and which are foreign — like bacteria and viruses. Picture the cells like a ball that has suction-cups sticking out all over its surface. Into each suction-cup is placed a piece of protein that is a marker like the ones found within the body. The suction-cups are filled with markers from the heart, kidney, lung, islet cells (diabetes), connective tissue (lupus), thyroid (Graves) and the like as part of their education process. This is done so when the cell circulates through the body, it does not destroy self-tissue.

This education process is not perfect, however, and some cells do not get markers for islet cells, or connective tissue, or thyroid. These cells should be destroyed through a normal central deletion process before they get into the blood stream. Autoimmune disease occurs when these miss educated cells are not destroyed and are allowed to circulate throughout the body. So when the empty suction-cup encounters the protein marker for normal tissue, that marker fills the empty suction-cup, which then activates the immune process that kills the normal-self tissue.

It is this faulty system that is at the heart of the Common Cause Hypothesis.

More and more researchers are documenting that the defect that allows these bad-cells to escape destruction and attack normal tissue is present and active in different autoimmune syndromes.

Autoimmune diseases are defined and named because the bad-cell destroys different tissues. In the case of type I diabetes, the immune system destroys insulin producing beta cells. In lupus the immune system destroys connective tissue. In multiple sclerosis nerve covering is destroyed. In Grave’s disease, thyroid tissue is destroyed. In Type II diabetes the functions of the liver cells are affected.

Autoimmune disease is often referred to as a genetic disease, because it runs in families. At issue, however, is the phenomenon seen in twins where it is common for one identical human twin to have an autoimmune disease and 60 – 70% of the time for the sibling does not have the disease. The twins have the same genes but the genes do not behave the same way in each twin.

It is now time to recognize the convergence of this body of knowledge, and to reconsider and refocus attention to the underlying core biology that appears to be the Common Cause of many autoimmune diseases. In doing so, it will be possible to dramatically accelerate progress toward curing many devastating syndromes through a unified, rather than a fragmented effort.

One way to approach this is to use Tonics to address the underlying cause rather than treat symptoms of arthritis, high blood pressure and cholesterol, etc. Bioplasma cell salts are wonderful to address the underlying immunity as our immune boosting agents. Colloidal silver and Noni juice are wonderful choices as well.

My nanny has not been “diagnosed” yet, but reports mentioned metastasis all over and they have started treatments for her bones she has a fracture and have mentioned cancer, tumors, and chemotherapy and radiation.

She is 66 years old. I was wondering if there are any herbal/natural supplements that she could take to relieve/cure this. I read that Zeolite, Oxy E, and AFA blue green algae among other things are good. What do you recommend that she should take and how much and for how long?

Please help! Thanks.

Dear G,

In response to your question about your nanny the herbs that you have listed are all wonderful antioxidants and certainly would not do her any harm. Speaking as a cancer survivor myself I would highly recommend Essiac tea, this tea is available on the website at http://www.naturalmedicine.com/store/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=21

Additionally, oncology is a very specialized field even in natural medicine. The Centre of Healing in Ashland Oregon specializes in holistic therapies for cancer. They do phone consultations and will help to set up a protocol for her. Their website is www.centrehealing.com.

The most important thing to understand is 90% of healing is emotional, now is the time to be supportive and accept whatever choices she makes. Treat her as normally as possible, there is nothing more difficult as a cancer patient than hearing “how are you feeling” multiple times throughout your day as you begin to feel like a walking virus!

Supportive herbs like the Essiac will help to protect the body from disease progressing.

Much love and prayer to you and your Nanny, Deborahe
